2010 Arlington Fly-In Light Flight Arrival Procedures (Updated: 5-26-2010) Light Flight Radio Frequency 133.575 (this frequency may not be monitored) Light Flight pattern altitude within 5 miles of the Arlington Airport is 537’ MSL (400’ AGL) The Normal or Standard Traffic Pattern is a “Left Hand Pattern” Approach from the west & enter the pattern between Island Crossing & the I-5 Freeway overpass, using the I-5 Freeway overpass as your entry point. (see diagram below) Approach at a 45-degree angle (Highway 531 can be used as a reference point). A Traffic Pattern Indicator located abeam the runway indicating recommended Landing Direction (the landing indicator is a 4’ x 8’ sign board the color on the face indicates the following landing procedure) 1.Green sign board indicates a westbound landing with a Standard Left Hand Pattern using Runway 29. 2.White sign board indicates an Eastbound landing with a straight in approach using Runway 11. 3.Red sign board indicates the runway is closed, please plan accordingly. Upon arrival, taxi to the Light Flight Headquarters Tent for parking information. Drive In Procedure with LSA or UL on trailer Drive into the Main Auto Gate and ask Parking lot Volunteer for directions to the Fly-Mart Gate At the Fly-Mart Gate the Security Person will call on the Radio to Light Flight Headquarters. You must wait outside the gate until a Light Flight volunteer arrives to escort you into the Light Flight Area. Once you have unloaded your aircraft your vehicles will need to exit to the General Parking Lot and Trailers will be parked in the Designated Parking Area, a volunteer will direct you. For the safety of our guests, volunteers, vendors and participants, late trailer arrivals will be limited to the following times to drive into the Light Flight Area to unload and stage their aircraft
If you arrive other than the times above you may have to park your trailer in the General Parking Lot until it’s deemed safe and Light Flight volunteers are available to guide you.
